Paid Position with the University of Akron Law School Expungement Clinic

The Expungement Clinic will be hiring one paid student to start May 18, 2015. The Expungement Clinic helps low-income residents with the court process to seal the record of their criminal convictions.  A sealed record allows better access to employment and housing, and removes the stigma associated with a criminal conviction.

Duties for the position include representing clients, training new volunteers, communicating with the Court, and conducting community presentations. The student will also provide the administrative support for the program. Students who are eligible for a legal intern certificate will appear in court and represent clients at the expungement hearings.

The student must be willing to commit 5 hours per week to the clinic.  Please submit resumes to mdavis1@uakron.edu  no later than May 4, 2015.
