The Volunteer Legal Services Program (VLSP) at Community Legal Aid is seeking law students who are interested in volunteering, but only have limited time available. We are looking for students interested in volunteering for five (5) hours only. The work mostly involves two of our programs. The Peace of Mind Bankruptcy By-Pass Program is designed to inform clients regarding their rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. You will be responsible for reviewing creditors and looking up the correct address for proper Notice. The second program is our Wills clinic. You will be responsible for drafting simple estate planning documents: Durable Powers of Attorney, Health Care Powers of Attorney and Living Wills.
Please email Carla Boyle at cboyle@communitylegalaid.org if you are interested. Note; Community Legal Aid Offices will be closed beginning Thursday December 24th and will reopen Monday January 4th 2016.
