The University of Akron School of Law is pleased to sponsor a fun event this Friday evening called PechaKucha Akron, which will take place at the Akron Civic Theatre. If you’re not familiar with PechaKucha, think of it as a series of mini-TED-like talks, but with a more festive atmosphere. Nine speakers present in a “rapid-fire” format by giving a 20-slide PowerPoint presentation, with each slide lasting only 20 seconds — meaning each presentation is just under seven minutes. Speakers hail from a variety of creative disciplines, including art, cinema, science, poetry, and business, to name a few. The event is free of charge, but please register in advance here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/pechakucha-akron-volume-ii-tickets-19969590583. Doors open at 7 PM, and the event starts promptly at 8 PM. Food and drink will be available. The University of Akron School of Law’s SEED (Small Entrepreneur & Economic Development) Legal Clinic provides representation to many local artists, some of whom will be presenting. Over 300 people have already registered, so it should be a big event! Hope to see you there!
