BLSA is hosting a “snack and study” session Monday, September 19th at 5:15PM (room TBD)
Professor Willa Gibson will be conducting an Outlining Seminar covering basic outlining techniques, specifically in the area of contracts. Afterwards, some upper level students (including myself) will be available to answer any questions about 1L subjects and to study with you all.
Light Refreshments will be served.

Constitution Day Speaker
The Center for Constitutional Law will host Professor Laurie Levenson who will speak on Friday, September 16th in recognition of Constitution Day. Professor Levenson is a nationally-regarded expert on criminal law and ethics, and a frequent TV commentator known for her work on the OJ Simpson trial. Please join us from 12:00 – 1:00 PM in Room 160 at the McDowell Law Building as Professor Levenson speaks on “Innocence and the Constitution: Why We Need to Do Better.” This event is free and open to the public. 18th Annual Law Student Closing Argument Competition–Win Scholarship Money!!!
It’s time to register for the 18th Annual Law Student Closing Argument Competition, which will be on Thursday, October 13 at the Cuyahoga County Courthouse. This competition is open to any upper-division law student, who will give a 15-minute closing argument in a civil case for the plaintiff, a catastrophically injured child. The argument is on damages only.
The top three students will receive scholarship awards of $750 for first place, $500 for second place, and $200 for third place. Akron Law has traditionally performed well at this competition–we took home first and third place last year, and in 2013 we swept all three places!
