Substance Abuse Lecture

Location: Goodyear Auditorium, Room 229 in the Polymer Building (the glass building just east of the law school)
Who should attend: All students planning to take the Ohio Bar if you have not yet attended this lecture
The one-hour Substance Abuse Lecture is required if you plan to take the Ohio Bar at any time in the future. You may attend this lecture during any semester you are in law school, and we will verify your attendance with the Supreme Court of Ohio when you graduate from law school. You will definitely want to make this lecture, particularly if you are planning to graduate in Fall 2016 or Spring 2017 and you have not yet attended one.

SBA will hold two information sessions TODAY Wednesday, September 7th at 12:30-1:00 and 5:30-6:00 in room 140 of the law school for anyone interested in learning more about the Student Bar Association. We have 4 officer positions for 1Ls open and several more for part-time students. If you are interested in getting involved, join us to learn more about these positions, elections, and SBA in general! Food will be provided. Seeking legal interns for the Summit County Prosecutor’s Office – Delinquency Division. Applicants MUST have an an intern certificate (or be eligible to get one). The Delinquency Division prosecutes youth under 18 who are charged with a crime, traffic offense or truancy in Summit County. Our office is located at Juvenile Court (650 Dan Street). This is an unpaid internship, but we will work with youth who coordinate their hours for credit. Interns will assist with office help, case preparation, legal research and writing and will handle their own cases in court (from pretrial all the way through trial and disposition.) It’s a great opportunity for anyone interested in courtroom work, trial work, or criminal law generally. Interns will be supervised by division attorneys, and will be taught our practice from the ground up. Applicants must be able to work independently, with exceptional organization skills, and be able to work well with others. If anyone has questions, they should contact me directly via email. We hope to fill spots for 2 legal interns as soon as possible.
