The ABA Section of Labor and Employment Law and the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers are pleased to announce their 2016-17 Writing Competition. Current JD students are welcome to submit articles that address aspects of public- or private-sector labor and employment law relevant to the American labor and employment bar. Students are encouraged to discuss a public-policy issue, practical implications of a leading case or doctrine, a statute or the need to modify it, or other related topics. Articles about recent United States Supreme Court cases are discouraged unless the article focuses on case law or statutory developments after the Court’s decision.
The following prizes may be awarded: first place, $3,000 and publication in the ABA Journal of Labor & Employment Law; second place, $1,000; and third place, $500.
Articles must be submitted to swan@laborandemploymentcollege.org, using the subject line “Writing Competition,” by midnight (EDT) on June 15, 2017. For complete rules (which should be read in their entirety), please visit www.laborandemploymentcollege.org.
