Canned Immunity is Back!

Hello everyone, its that time of year again! Women’s Law Association and Animal Legal Defense will be tabling for Canned Immunity from  April 2nd through April 6th at  12:15 p.m. and 5:15 p.m. Canned Immunity is where you either donate specific items or give $2 for a ticket or 3 tickets for $5, so that you will not be called on in class. We are donating to One of a Kind Pet Rescue and a battered women’s shelter.

Supplies donated will go to the pet rescue and money donated will go to the battered women’s shelter.

Expungement Clinic Seeking Student Volunteers*

The Expungement Clinic helps low-income Summit County residents seal the record of their criminal convictions.  A sealed record enables many people better access to jobs, housing, and volunteer opportunities.  Students will learn integral skills in the legal field including record searches, reading court dockets, completing applications to file with the court, and interviewing real clients.

There will be a mandatory training session on Monday, April 9, 2018 from 4:30-5:30pm in the Law School Room 301. (You do not need to attend training if you have attended in the past).  You will need a laptop for training.

Lunch will be provided! Prof. Holte and Dean O’Brien will review next steps for preparation for the PLIP, including application materials, bidding, interviews, etc. Students should also be prepared to ask questions to get the most benefit from the PLIP.

“Action at ACCESS” Saturdays!

ACCESS is always looking for energetic volunteers to help with work around the shelter. Once a month we hold an open volunteer time for you to come in and lend a helping hand. Our next “Action at ACCESS” is April 21st from 9am-12pm.
