AkronLawJobs No. 9465 Overview: The Supreme Court of Ohio has an opening for a paid law clerk position in the Office of Chief Legal Counsel. The Office of Chief Legal Counsel is responsible for assisting the Court and the Office of the Administrative Director with legal, government relations, and policy matters. The Chief Legal Counsel provides advice on general legal matters affecting the administrative operation of the Court and the judges and courts of Ohio.
Duties: The law clerk will assist the Office of Chief Legal counsel by conducting legal research and writing. Projects will vary in nature and may include research on the current status of laws or rules in all states on a particular subject matter. The law clerk may also be asked to summarize the findings in visually appealing charts and graphs.
Hours: Hours of work may vary on a project-by-project basis, with an average of approximately 15 hours per work available. The rate of pay will be $18.00/hour. The position is temporary, with no benefits. The law clerk would be expected to be on site one day per week, with a possibility of some work performed remotely. While there will be deadlines, there is an opportunity for scheduling flexibility.
Qualifications: 2L or 3L; and Excellent research and writing skills.
