AkronLawJobs No. 9978 Overview: The Wisconsin judicial system is offering 1L and 2L students the opportunity to work as unpaid interns with circuit judges throughout the state during the summer of 2019. A limited number of internships with Wisconsin Supreme Court Justices may also be available. 

Qualifications:  1L or 2L

Please Note: Although we have no funds to compensate or reimburse these interns for the expenses they incur in participating, we hope to reward them with practical experience, our thanks, and summer in wonderful Wisconsin. We encourage the student to discuss with you the possibility of earning credits for completing this internship.

Scholarship to Attend the 46th Annual Arbitrator & Advocate Symposium

The 46th Annual Arbitrator & Advocate Symposium will be held at the Crowne Plaza North Hotel in Columbus, Ohio on the afternoon of May 2nd and full day on May 3, 2019.  The Symposium is sponsored by the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, National Academy of Arbitrators and the Labor and Employment Relations Association.  The Symposium is designed as an educational tool for all levels of interest in the Labor Relations field.

Several scholarships to cover tuition for the Symposium are available to Law/Business students interested in the field of Labor Relations.  If you are interested and available to attend the program, provide the following information to Staff Professional, Eleanor Garrison at eg@garrisonevents.com:

Please include your request to obtain a scholarship along with a short narrative identifying how the Symposium will benefit you.  Include your name, contact information, University and program in which you are currently enrolled.  Deadline for receipt of applications is March 8th, 2019.

10th Annual University of Akron School of Law Intramural Trial Competition – Volunteers Needed! The trial competition sponsored by Tzangas Plakas Mannos Ltd. is looking for volunteers to act as jurors or witnesses for teams on Saturday, April 6, 2019. Get into the mindset of a juror as your peers put on their case or get in on the action and become a witness who will be directed and cross examined. Volunteers as jurors will be needed from 9am until 1pm and will receive free lunch. Volunteers as witnesses will be paired with teams requesting witnesses on a rolling basis and may need to meet with their teams beforehand. Witnesses will receive free lunch and a quarter-zip.
