We encourage you to take advantage of a free summer resource for students and graduates at all law schools to develop skills and marketability in technology, innovation, and equity a summer when jobs are impacted by COVID-19. Students attending at least 15 of the one-hour lectures can apply for a Tipping the Scales: Technology, Innovation, and Equity badge that they can include on their resume. The lectures are by leaders in corporate legal operations, talent development and other areas. The first lecture starts next Wednesday, June 3, at 12 pm EST (with options to watch later asynchronously), so make sure you register soon.
This resource began last summer as a partnership between Connie Breton, Senior Director of Legal Operations at NetApp and Chancellor John Pierre of Southern Law Center. Penn State Law joined as a collaborator, and Wolter’s Kluwer supported the expansion of the project in its second year through a Leading Edge Prize for Educational Innovation. When the public health crisis occurred this spring, they decided to focus on how the series could be most helpful to our students and graduates professionally impacted by COVID-19. In addition to this year’s lectures and badge, you are welcome to view last year’s and earn that badge or access additional resources provided by law schools.
