Qualifications:  2L, 3L, or part-time students. Must have taken or be taking Evidence and Criminal Procedure during or before the externship starts.

UNIVERSITY OF AKRON SCHOOL OF LAW FALL 2021 IN-PERSON LEARNING AND TEACHING POLICIES

The following are the policies regarding teaching and learning at the School of Law for the Fall 2021 semester.  These policies are subject to change if necessary due to public health conditions, government regulations or guidelines, University regulations or policies, accreditation requirements, or other factors.

Student learning.  For any course listed as in-person on the schedule, students will be required to attend class in person unless the UA Office of Accessibility has granted an accommodation that allows them to take classes online.  Students seeking an accommodation should contact the Office of Accessibility (https://www.uakron.edu/access/, access@uakron.edu, 330-972-7928).  Instructors may make limited exceptions for pedagogical reasons or to accommodate temporary circumstances such as illness; however, instructors should consult with Associate Dean Emily Janoski-Haehlen (ejanoskihaehlen@uakron.edu) to verify consistency with accreditation standards and school policy.

Faculty teaching.  The administration will determine the delivery mode of each course in consultation with the faculty member.  For courses offered on an in-person basis, instructors will be required to teach in person unless the UA Office of Human Resources has granted an ADA accommodation that allows them to teach online. Associate Dean Emily Janoski-Haehlen (ejanoskihaehlen@uakron.edu) may grant limited exceptions for pedagogical reasons or to accommodate temporary circumstances such as illness.
