Mission Statement

The passion and commitment of a student with ambitions and dreams towards the enhancements of society are characteristics that JT Legal Group sincerely acknowledges. Higher education brings opportunities for prosperity and no obstacle should get in the way of that, especially financial ones. JT Legal Group is looking to award a law school scholarship opportunity in the amount of $5,000 to a student who presents the most equipped and original understanding on the facets of law and legal support.

Prompt

The applicant will be asked to provide an essay explaining the significance of Prop 213 and the potential exceptions that may come with the proposition. In addition, they will explain the importance of helping those not at-fault and what drivers should do if they did get into an uninsured accident.

Submission Type

  • A 500 – 1000 word essay
  • Double-spaced, 12-point font, One-inch margins
  • File named as your first and last name (Example: Jane_Doe)
  • Submitted as a doc. or .pdf file.

Requirements
  • Must have a GPA above 3.0.
  • Must submit a completed form along with the essay 
  • Must follow us on social media to stay updated on the winner 
  • Must email the submission to scholarship@jtlegalgroup.com
  • Must have an interest in pursuing law or is currently pursuing law.

Rubric for Judging Scholarship Entries

Judging will be based on the following criteria:
  • Originality of ideas.
  • Quality of content submission: Organization, structure, and grammatical integrity.
  • Adherence to the eligibility criteria and instructions.

Edwards Firm Scholarship Opportunity

The Edwards Law Firm represents clients in Corpus Christi and surrounding areas. Our firm is incredibly passionate about community involvement and helping those in need. We plan to extend this passion to current and aspiring college students across the nation through The Edwards Law Community First Scholarship.

This semester, we will be offering a scholarship worth $1,000 to a student enrolled at an accredited college or university in the United States who aspires to use their higher education to make a positive impact on their community. Eligible applicants must meet the following criteria: 

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must be a United States citizen
  • Must be pursuing a career that makes a positive impact on the safety and well-being of their community

Kanoski Bresney Stand Up to Distracted Driving Scholarship

Kanoski Bresney, our Central Illinois law firm, is offering five scholarship awards, each in the amount of $2,000, to support students throughout the U.S. who are starting or continuing their college or university education in the Spring 2022 semester.  

We ask that applicants for the Kanoski Bresney Stand Up to Distracted Driving Scholarship submit an original essay in response to the prompt: “How has distracted driving affected your life? What ideas do you have to raise awareness of the dangers of distracted driving and prevent this behavior among young drivers?”
