Many of our fellow students at The University of Akron suffer from food insecurity, the Campus Cupboard provides assistance to students in periodic need with access to the basic necessities of daily living. All enrolled University of Akron students have access to an assortment of non-perishable food and hygiene items at a variety of locations around campus.
The Campus Cupboard is in need of volunteers to assist with two events this month. This is a great opportunity to get some Community Service Limited Means hours logged before the end of the semester! There is no need to register, just show up ready to assist at the convenient on-campus locations listed below.
The Campus Cupboard, in collaboration with The Salvation Army for Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week, will be hosting two events in need of volunteers this month.
- Food Packing Volunteer Event Wednesday, November 17th from 11 am – 1 pm, Student Union Room 312
- Need help packing 100 bags with various shelf stable food items for distribution on November 18th
- TSA Food Bag Distribution Event Thursday, November 18th from 11 am to 1 pm, Student Union Piano Lounge by Starbucks
- Need help distributing food items and collecting information
