The Pullan & Young law firm has established the Supporting Prisoners’ Families Scholarship to assist students whose lives have been affected by a loved one’s incarceration. This scholarship aims to provide financial support for individuals striving to further their education despite the challenges they face. Each semester, one student will receive a $1,000 award to help ease the burden of educational expenses.

Eligibility:

  • Family Impact: Applicants must have a parent or family member who has been incarcerated.
  • Enrollment: Applicants must be enrolled in or accepted into an accredited U.S. college or university for the Spring 2025 semester.
  • Degree Program: Open to both undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Age Requirement: Applicants must be 18 years of age or older at the time of application.

Application Requirements:

  • Essay: Submit a 500-word essay answering the prompt about the challenges faced as a student with an incarcerated loved one and how this scholarship will help.
  • Proof of Enrollment: Provide documentation confirming enrollment in a college or university.
  • Headshot: Submit a recent student headshot.
  • Consent: Agree to allow the scholarship team to publish your essay, name, and photo if selected as the winner.

Deadline:

  • The application deadline for the Spring 2025 semester is September 15, 2025.
