Sharma Law Associates, LLC is proud to offer an annual scholarship opportunity designed to support students pursuing a career in law or a related field. Eligibility:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or have legal authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must provide proof of acceptance into an accredited undergraduate program in pre-law or a related field, or proof of acceptance and enrollment in an accredited U.S. law school for the Fall 2025 semester.
  • Must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 at the undergraduate level.

Requirements:

  • Submit a current and complete resume.
  • Provide a 500–1,000-word essay, typed and single-spaced in 12-point font, discussing a topic related to your intended area of legal practice.
  • Submit official transcripts:
    • High school transcripts for incoming college freshmen.
    • College transcripts for all other applicants.
  • Provide an official acceptance letter from an accredited U.S. college or law school.
  • Submit proof of legal residency in the U.S. (e.g., birth certificate, passport, or permanent resident card).

Justice in Family Law Scholarship

Amount Awarded: $1,000

The Justice in Family Law Scholarship is offered by the Law Office of George J. Skuros to support students who are passionate about improving the field of family law. This opportunity is open to undergraduate and J.D. students who seek to make a meaningful impact in how family law is practiced and experienced. The scholarship encourages thoughtful reflection on current issues and solutions within the legal system.

Eligibility:

  • Must be enrolled (or will be) in an accredited undergraduate or J.D. program at a U.S. college or university for Spring 2026.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.

Requirements:

  • Submit an essay of 500–1,500 words in PDF format, including at least one citation, responding to one of the following prompts:
    • What is an injustice that you see in the implementation and enforcement of family law in the U.S.? How can this injustice be rectified?
    • Discuss the effect divorce has on the behavior and emotions of children. Students may explore how the experience can shape a child’s understanding of emotional well-being, relationships, self-esteem, and overall behavior.
  • Provide an academic transcript.
  • Submit a professional photograph.
  • Include contact information: address, phone number, and email address.

The Behan Law Group Military Veteran Scholarship

Amount Awarded: $1,000

The Behan Law Group Military Veteran Scholarship supports U.S. military Veterans and their children in pursuing higher education. Founded by U.S. Navy Veteran Michelle Behan, this scholarship reflects the firm’s commitment to honoring military service and aiding those who have served or are serving in the U.S. military, as well as their families.

Eligibility:

  • Must be a U.S. military Veteran, current service member, or the child of a Veteran or current service member
  • Must be currently enrolled in, or accepted to, an undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited U.S. college or university
  • Education must continue at least through the Spring 2026 semester
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0

Requirements:

  • A 500–1,000 word essay addressing:
    • How your experience as a Veteran or the child of a Veteran has influenced your academic and career goals
    • How you plan to use your education to positively impact your community
  • Most recent academic transcript
  • Proof of military service for yourself or your parent
  • Professional headshot

  • Thoughtfulness, self-reflection, and originality

Winners will be selected and notified no later than January 5, 2026. The scholarship funds will be coordinated with the financial aid department of the recipient’s chosen institution.
