OVC, INC. Lawyers Give Back Scholarship

Amount Awarded: $1,000

Application Deadline: November 10, 2025

The OVC, INC. Lawyers Give Back Scholarship is designed to support current or aspiring law students who are committed to serving underprivileged communities through their legal careers. This $1,000 award can be used for tuition and other educational expenses at the recipient’s school.

Eligibility:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0.
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited U.S. undergraduate program or law school for the upcoming semester.

Requirements:

  • A video submission of approximately 2 to 3 minutes addressing the following prompt:
    • Considering the challenges and demands of practicing law, how will you sustain a commitment to pro bono work throughout your career? Discuss how you envision balancing your professional responsibilities and your dedication to serving those who may not have access to legal representation.
  • Academic transcript.
  • A headshot (JPEG file).
  • Contact information including name, phone number, email address, and mailing address.

Selection Criteria:

  • Creativity and originality.
  • Clarity of vision for future endeavors.
  • Quality and content of the video submission.

The winner will be notified by email no later than December 10, 2025. The scholarship check will be mailed directly to the winner’s financial aid office.

McConnell Family Law Group Scholarship

Amount Awarded: $1,000

Application Deadline: July 15, 2025

The McConnell Family Law Group is committed to supporting students who have been impacted by family challenges. Their scholarship aims to assist individuals pursuing higher education who have experienced the complexities of family law firsthand.

Eligibility:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
  • Currently enrolled or accepted into an accredited U.S. college or university.
  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
  • Have experienced challenges related to family law (e.g., divorce, custody, adoption).

Requirements:

  • Completed scholarship application form.
  • Unofficial transcript or acceptance letter.
  • A 500- to 1,000-word essay detailing how your experiences with family law have influenced your educational and career goals.

Michigan Auto Law Student Diversity Scholarship

Amount Awarded: $1,000

Application Deadline: June 1, 2025

Michigan Auto Law is now accepting applications for its 2025 Law Student Diversity Scholarship. This annual scholarship supports incoming and current law students who demonstrate a strong commitment to advancing diversity within the legal field. One recipient will be awarded $1,000 to help fund their legal education.

The scholarship recognizes students who have worked to encourage greater ethnic and racial diversity in their academic communities, whether in law school or during their undergraduate education. In 2024, the award was given to Kosar Kosar, a Yale Law School student whose advocacy for immigrant and refugee communities highlighted the power of grassroots legal support and systemic change.

Eligibility:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Accepted to law school for Fall 2025 or currently enrolled in the first or second year at an accredited U.S. law school
  • Minimum undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Must be a member of an ethnic or racial minority or demonstrate a strong commitment to diversity issues

Requirements:

  • Completed scholarship application
  • If entering law school in Fall 2025: a copy of your law school acceptance letter
  • Typed essay (no more than three pages) describing your efforts to encourage greater racial or ethnic diversity within your school community

Workplace Rights Scholarship

Amount Awarded: $1,000

Freedman Law, LLC is offering the Workplace Rights Scholarship to support students passionate about advancing workers’ rights and civil rights. This scholarship aims to assist individuals committed to making a positive impact in employment law and related fields.


Eligibility:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Must be enrolled in or planning to attend a U.S. college or university in Fall 2025
  • Must have a minimum GPA of 3.5 from the last institution attended
  • Must demonstrate a passion for civil rights and/or employment law issues, such as discrimination, harassment, wage theft, whistleblower protections, and union bargaining rights

Hope and Opportunity Scholarship

Amount Awarded: $1,500

Application Deadline: November 5, 2025

The Hope and Opportunity Scholarship, offered by Whitlock Law, LLC, supports students who have experienced life in the foster care system and are now pursuing higher education. This scholarship honors resilience and determination by offering financial assistance to students who are working toward a better future through academic achievement.


Eligibility:

  • Must have spent part or all of childhood in the foster care system
  • Must be at least 17 years old
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Must be enrolled or planning to enroll in an undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited U.S. college or university

Requirements:

  • Proof of enrollment (such as a transcript, acceptance letter, or class schedule)
  • Contact information as specified on the application form
  • A 500-word personal essay responding to the prompt: Reflect on a specific challenge you faced while in foster care and how it contributed to your personal growth
