More broadly, the Rural Summer Legal Corps program connects public interest law students with civil legal aid organizations to address pressing legal issues facing rural communities. Thirty fellowship opportunities are available nationwide to provide critical legal services to rural communities in the areas of housing, child welfare, migrant workers, disaster relief and more.
Selected students will receive a $5,000 stipend and begin the summer with intensive training from issue area experts in Washington, DC before deploying to their host site for an 8-10 week placement. 1Ls and 2Ls are eligible. Interested students can learn more about the program and apply by 11:59pm ET on Sunday, February 12.
