The Ohio Securities Conference has been held annually since 1973. The original intent was to provide an open exchange among Ohio’s securities regulators and industry professionals regarding Division policies. That same intent continues today but more recent conferences have included a variety of industry-related topics and speakers from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, FINRA, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Ohio, the FBI, IRS, SIFMA, the Consumer Federation of America, and more. We also include presentations from and networking time with our Division’s Commissioner and the section leaders from Licensing/Examinations, Corporate Finance/Registration, and Enforcement. Our attendees are mostly securities attorneys representing firms and individual clients, and financial professionals working in the securities industry. This year, one Akron Law student is invited to attend free of charge, including meals for the day. The conference will be held Friday, October 25th at the Westin Hotel in downtown Columbus. If you are interested in attending, please email Dean O’Brien: ab139@uakron.edu no later than Wed., September 4th.
