Overview:
The Natural Disaster Relief Scholarship, offered by the OVC Scholarship Network, provides financial support to students who have been personally or family-affected by natural disasters within the United States. This scholarship honors resilience and perseverance, helping students who have faced significant challenges continue pursuing their academic goals. Offered each semester, the award reflects OVC’s commitment to empowering students rebuilding their lives after hurricanes, wildfires, tornadoes, earthquakes, floods, and other natural disasters.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Applicant and/or their immediate family must have been affected by a natural disaster in the U.S. within the last 10 years
- Must be an undergraduate, graduate, or law student currently attending or planning to attend an accredited U.S. college or university
- Must be at least 17 years old
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
Application Requirements:
- Proof of enrollment or acceptance at an accredited U.S. institution (acceptance letter, class schedule, or unofficial transcript)
- A recent headshot photo of the applicant
- A 3–5 minute video essay describing how a specific natural disaster affected the applicant or their family, how its effects remain today, and how the scholarship will support their education and recovery
