Overview: The Melehy & Associates Public Service Scholarship supports students who are committed to pursuing careers in public service or government work. The scholarship provides $1,000 to one undergraduate or graduate student preparing for a future as a government employee.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be pursuing a degree related to public service or intend to use their degree to pursue a career in public service.
- Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.
- Must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a college or university within the United States for the Spring 2027 semester.
- Must be at least 17 years old.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
Application Requirements:
- Completed online scholarship application.
- Proof of enrollment at an accredited institution, such as an acceptance letter, unofficial transcript, or similar documentation.
- Evidence of most recently achieved GPA.
- Resume.
- Headshot.
- An essay of approximately 500 words responding to the prompt: What kind of career are you hoping to build in government, and how do you see your work making a positive impact on the lives of everyday Americans?
- Applications must be submitted through the scholarship application page by 11:59 p.m. on January 6, 2027.
