Volunteers Needed!!! The Summit County Juvenile Court – earn pro bono hours!

The Summit County Juvenile Court is seeking a few law students to volunteer at the court on Wednesdays from 1pm to 4pm beginning as soon as possible. The opportunity would allow students to work closely with attorneys who are assessing the Juvenile Court’s jurisdiction over custody requests, and to assist in completing pro se pleadings and other forms. New Law Library Positions for Law Students – apply today! Deadline is August 31.

The Law Library seeks to hire two law students as Reference/Circulation Associates for the 2015-2016 academic year.
Law Library Reference/Circulation Associates must be able to work an average of 8-10 hours per week and must be available to work two weekday evenings between 7 pm and 10 pm. A permanent weekly schedule will be set up at the beginning of each semester. Once the semester schedule is established, Law Library Associates are responsible for the hours assigned to them. Law Library Associates will be compensated $10/hour. Law Library Associates are supervised by a dual-degreed librarian (JD, MLS) who will provide reference training. The Circulation Supervisor will provide training on the operation of the Circulation Desk.
Duties include providing informational, directional, reference and research assistance to Law Library patrons. Associates will staff the Reference Desk Monday through Thursday from 7 pm to 10 pm. Associates will assist users with all aspects of reference service, including use of the library online catalog, general reference questions, use of Law Library and campus resources, research strategies, and database searches. Associates will direct patrons to library and campus resources as appropriate. Associates will also be trained and scheduled to work several hours each week at the Circulation Desk. Circulation duties include answering the phone, answering directional questions, and checking out library materials.
Qualifications: Applicants must be upper level University of Akron law students.

Qualifications:
The Step2 Company is looking for a first or second year law student. The ideal candidate will have prior corporate office experience and strong analytical skills. This person should have a solid attention to detail, and should be familiar with Microsoft Office applications; a proficiency in MS Access is a plus.
