Students needed for Clemency Project – earn pro bono of limited means hours while gaining legal experience!

The University of Akron Reentry Clinic seeks students to work in the Clemency Project. This is one of four in-house reentry clinics staffed by volunteer law students. The Clemency Project assists low-income clients with trying to obtain a pardon from the governor of Ohio. Low-income clients who have multiple criminal convictions are often unable to obtain employment or unable to use their professional degrees. Law students interview the client and assist the client with completing the clemency application. Students also may have the opportunity to attend a hearing before the Ohio Parole Board. The clinic requires no more than one hour per week. Please contact Professor Joann Sahl, jsahl1@uakron.edu, with questions or if you are interested in volunteering in the clinic.
