Overview:  The Akron Municipal Court has a part-time court intern/runner position vacancy.

Salary:  $9.68 per hour.

Work Schedule:  Prefer at least three days per week with availability between 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Akron Law Cares Registration and 10 Year Celebration!

Registration is now open for the 10th Annual Akron Law Cares event, Saturday, September 21st from 8AM – Noon.  All students, faculty, and staff are invited to participate in Akron Law’s annual day of service. Student volunteers will earn Community Service of Limited Means hours toward the Pro Bono graduation requirement.

The day will begin with a kick-off at the School of Law (with donuts and coffee sponsored by Tim Horton’s), and then volunteers will be directed to their respective community partner sites for a morning of volunteer work and fun. This year, community partners include: Akron Zoo, Habitat for Humanity REStore, Akron/Canton Foodbank, ACCESS, Haven of Rest, Battered Women’s Shelter, Open M, Salvation Army, City of Barberton, Mobile Meals, Wheels for Change, Valor Home and Broken Chains.

Also, please plan to attend the Akron Law Cares 10 Year Anniversary Celebration on Thursday, September 19th in the Common from 4-6PM. We will have food, treats, music and photos with a special guest! No RSVP required.

Stark County Association for Justice event – open to all law students

You are invited to join members of the trial team who represented Gibson’s Bakery in the seminal six-week trial leading to a verdict of over $44 million for the Bakery against Oberlin College for a round table discussion and presentation at Bender’s Tavern in downtown Canton, Ohio at 4:00pm on Thursday, September 5, 2019. 

The event is hosted by the Stark County Association for Justice for their members.  Law students are invited to attend as guests.  Admission is free.  Light hors d’oeuvres will be provided.  Please email mklutinotyedwards@lawlion.com to RSVP.
