AkronLawJobs No. 5237 Overview: Seeking a student finishing 1L to help a small Criminal and Domestic Relations firm based out of Ravenna, Ohio. Law Clerk is expected to draft and file pleadings, accompany lawyers to in-home visits for Guardian ad Litem cases and occasionally to court, answer phones, and take messages for lawyers while they are out of the office. . Law Clerk is expected to work approximately 20-30 hours per week during the summer and approximately 20 hours per week during the school year, with the occasional night or weekend hours for after-hour visits with Guardian ad Litem clients. Work hours are flexible to accommodate student’s schedule.

Volunteer opportunity with Hattie Larlham – “Over the Edge” Event

Hattie Larlham is seeking one student volunteer to post and drop off little stands containing advertising for its “Over The Edge” (OTE) event around the UA campus.

Estimated time commitment: 2-3 hours (can be split) or as needed. This will count toward the general community service requirement.

More volunteering opportunities will be available for this event in the future.

Students – consider attending the 2014 Akron Law Alumni Weekend Events!

2014 Akron Law Alumni Weekend

The 2014 Akron Law Alumni Weekend will take place May 16-18, 2014. The weekend will feature the annual Akron Law Alumni Awards and Class Reunion Dinner (the “Alumni Dinner”), an Alumni Golf Outing, and the 2014 Commencement Ceremony.

The Alumni Dinner will begin at 5:30 p.m. on May 16, 2014 at the Quaker Square Inn. Tickets are $25 each, but ten complimentary tickets are available for students on a first come, first served basis. Students interested in attending should RSVP to Michele Novachek via e-mail at manovac@uakron.edu. This is an excellent opportunity to meet and network with Akron Law alumni of many generations.

The Alumni Golf Outing will be held on May 17, 2014 at Good Park Golf Course. The outing will be formatted as a two person scramble. Tickets are $85 per person and include breakfast, golf, and lunch. Register online at uakron.edu/law/alumni.
