Community Service and Networking Opportunity

Earn community service hours and meet members of the Stark County Bar Association! Six law student volunteers are needed to assist with Law, Love & Chocolate, an event co-sponsored by the Akron Law Alumni Association and the Stark County Bar Association. Volunteers will sell raffle tickets and assist elsewhere, as needed. The event will be held on Thursday, February 13 from 4:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the Canton Club in downtown Canton. LEGAL CLINIC ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR PAID POSITION – deadline is January 31st by 5:00 PM

The University of Akron School of Law Legal Clinic is hiring for a paid position open for Spring semester 2014 and Summer 2014. The paid position is for a Director of our Inmate Assistance Program and as a staff member for the Appellate Review Office. This position is open to all 2L or 3 L full time or evening students. The person chosen for this position will be paid $8.00 per hour up to 20 hours per week during the school year and 25 hours per week during the summer.  Students must take credit courses during the summer to qualify for employment.

People interested in developing interviewing, research, and writing skills should apply.  Our Clinic graduates use their skills in civil and criminal contexts as Public Defenders, County Prosecutors, Legal Aid lawyers, judicial law clerks, and civil practitioners.
