Earn pro bono limited means hours!

Two law students are needed to assist with registration for the National Pro Bono Free Legal Clinic. The clinic will be held at the Job Center, 1050 Tallmadge Avenue, Akron, Ohio, on October 10, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Volunteers must arrive at 9:30 a.m. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Potential Fellowship Opportunity;  DEADLINE FOR RESPONSE IS VERY SHORT
Legal aid is considering candidates for possible Equal Justice Works fellowship beginning September 2014.    If interested, please contact Attorney Marie Curry at 330 990 3092 and by email at mcurry@communitylegalaid.org immediately.  Please include resume.  INTERVIEW and application process may occur over the weekend.  Candidate must be willing and able to develop application materials in the next three days.
Legal Aid has a potential project in the area of Education Law.
Preferred candidate will be:
•    Recent law school graduate or candidate for graduation no later than May 2014
•    OH Bar membership or intention to take the OH Bar no later than Summer 2014
•    Excellent academic credentials
•    Commitment to the mission of Legal Aid
•     Experience working with low-income people
•    Community involvement

Public Interest Fellowship Applications due Monday, September 16th at Noon.

Each semester (spring, summer and fall), the Law School awards a stipend to a number of students who have secured a public interest internship.

Applications for Fall 2013 Public Interest Fellowships  will be accepted through Monday, September 16, 2013 at 12:00 Noon.

 The application form must be filled out by the student/applicant.  The organization that will employ you as a volunteer law clerk and will provide supervision will need to confirm that in a letter on their letterhead/stationery.  The employer will need to include your start date, end date, number of hours per week on average, supervisor’s name, and a short paragraph describing your anticipated duties.  This letter also needs to be submitted by the application deadline. All materials must be submitted to the Career Planning Office by the deadline.

Join the fun! Akron Law alumni, students, administration and faculty are working on a community service project

together for the senior living in Akron Metropolitan Housing Authority apartments and we need your help!

Earn community service of limited means hours!

Activities will include “hands-on” work of assisting senior residents with cleaning and organization needs of their

units, as well as joining senior residents for fun social activities. Bring your family and friends!

All participants will receive lunch and an “Akron Law CARES” t-shirt.
