Law Clerk for Hire Project!

Attorney looking for any 2Ls, 3Ls, or JDs looking for a part-time position on a specific short, immediate project. This is a temporary project (2-3 weeks) but could lead to great recommendation/job leads and would be ideal for someone looking for extra work on the weekends or needs a flexible schedule.

Qualifications: Ability to organize; understands pleadings, review documents, good computer skills (including word and excel), focused, willing to do tedious work. No job too big or small. This involves work on an important case and time is critical. If you have these qualities, please contact me. Stipend or Compensation will be discussed. This is a great learning experience. All work will be done at Attorney’s home office in Fairlawn.

Join the “Rethinking Race” events!

The University of Akron is again hosting “Rethinking Race” – an annual series of race-related programming options, this year with over 50 events scheduled! Rethinking Race takes place over two weeks, from February 3rd to February 19th. The full calendar of events is here.

E.J. Thomas Hall

Since her famous classroom exercises with White students during the Civil Rights movement, keynote speaker Jane Elliot has been an internationally known teacher and trainer on the nature of prejudice.

Dr. Mahzarin Banaji

Quaker Station

Dr. Banaji is one of the principal researchers behind the Implicit Association Tests that have exposed the extensive distribution of implicit bias along a broad spectrum of characteristics.

Tea Time for Peace

Speed-dating style conversations with Muslims, presented by the Law School’s Social Justice Project, with the support of the Muslim Law Students Association.

A panel on civility and civil rights sponsored by the Black Law Students Association and moderated by Professor Lee.

Deadline for Community Legal Aid OCI is Thursday!

Community Legal Aid – Akron, Canton, Warren and Youngstown – Summer Interns – 1L, 2L, Part-time 3L may apply. Apply through Symplicity under “OCI” – must select “Spring 2017” session. Send your Cover Letter listing your top two projects and if you are willing to volunteer, will be receiving credit, are work-study eligible or are applying for a public interest summer grant/fellowship, (Supplemental Application HERE.) Must also include Writing Sample, Resume, and Three References with contact information. You MUST also submit an application to the program available at the above link.
