Since 2001, the number of hospice patients has increased by 22 percent and the median length of stay of a hospice patient went from 20.5 days to 22 days. Hospice Care and the related Ethical and Legal Concerns of End-of-Life Care are increasingly becoming an important topic for discussion as more than 78 million Americans begin to turn 60 this decade.
