Equal Justice Works Regional Public Interest Awards (deadline Wednesday)

Each year, the Equal Justice Works National Advisory Committee presents eight law students throughout the country with a Regional Public Interest Award. Chosen for their innovation, impact, and commitment to public interest law, each of the students selected is recognized for providing extraordinary service through clinics, volunteer work, internships, and more. Recipients of the Regional Public Interest Awards will receive a $250 cash prize and a commemorative plaque.

The application is open through March 20th and can be accessed on the Equal Justice Works website. Selected awardees will be notified by early April.

Public Interest Funding Deadlines Spring 2019 (First Deadline Friday)

Akron Bar Foundation Fellowship Program (the “ABF Fellowship”):To apply, students must submit an application to the Career Services Office at lawcareerplanning@uakron.edu or by hard copy by Friday, March 22, 2019.

The Federal Communications Bar Association Law School Summer Internship Stipend: Students must submit an application for the stipend before the deadline on Sunday, March 24, 2019. The application can be accessed at: https://webportalapp.com/sp/login/fcbastipend2019.

The Knight Foundation First Amendment Fellowship: To apply, students must submit an application to the Career Services Office at lawcareerplanning@uakron.edu or by hard copy by Tuesday, April 2, 2019

The David D. Dowd, Sr. Memorial Summer Job Placement Award: To apply, students must submit cover letter and resume to the Career Services Office at lawcareerplanning@uakron.edu or by hard copy by Friday, April 12, 2019 at noon. A committee will review applications and a student will be selected before the spring term is over

The Akron Law Public Interest Program: Applications for Summer 2019 Public Interest Fellowships will be accepted beginning Monday, February 19, 2019 and will be accepted through Monday, April 15, 2019. To apply, students must submit an application to the Career Services Office at lawcareerplanning@uakron.edu or by hard copy by Monday April 15, 2019 at 12:00 Noon. Law Student Submissions Sought for the UA Interdisciplinary Symposium

The University of Akron’s first annual Interdisciplinary Symposium (UA-IS) is seeking submissions from law students! Students who produce scholarly and creative works of the highest quality are eligible to receive an award and cash prize. Presenting at UA-IS will be free for all UA students.
