Weren’t able to attend the Grad Fair? Here’s what you missed!

If you were unable to make it to the Grad Fair on the 11th, don’t worry! You can purchase your Cap, Gown, Tassel, and Hood at the Polsky Bookstore up until the week before Commencement. If you are out of state, and will not have a chance to purchase in person, please contact me directly.

If you plan to borrow your regalia, please let me know. Also, you will need to make sure I receive the Hood by April 24th. A photo of the hood is below for your reference. You may only borrow from Akron Law graduates from 2009-2014 as styles have changed from previous years. Please make sure you receive four pieces: A cap, a tassel, a hood, and a robe, see image of parts below for your reference.

Please visit the Commencement Page on the website which has a lot of helpful information for you and your friends and family as you make plans for the big day. Please look it over and contact me with any questions.

If you have any questions that are not addressed on the website or in this post, please feel free to contact me directly and I’ll be happy to assist.

Thank you,

Reminder: Important Survey Invitation from Dean Wilson

Dear Students:

In Spring 2016, the American Bar Association and the Association of American Law Schools will visit The University of Akron School of Law to evaluate it for reaccreditation.  In advance of this visit, Akron Law engages in a comprehensive review.  We are evaluating our success in achieving both of our goals: to educate future lawyers and to enhance the legal profession.  We would like to identify our strengths and target areas for improvement.

As a member of our Akron Law community, we need your input as we complete this evaluation and develop strategies to enhance our program and our role in the broader legal community.  Please complete the survey linked below to provide us with this information.  You should base your responses to survey questions on your current impressions of Akron Law.  Your responses will remain anonymous.  If you would like to discuss any of your answers or opinions with us, please contact Professor Ryan Vacca (330-972-7972; vacca@uakron.edu), Chair of the Self Study Committee, and he will have a member of the committee reach out to you.

It is important that we receive as much input as possible.  Please respond to the survey at your earliest convenience, before March 15.  If you would like us to mail you a hard copy of the survey, please contact Professor Vacca to request one.

Thank you for helping us distinguish ourselves!

Please take this brief survey for the Princeton Review

ATTN: Current Akron Law JD Students

Please see the invitation below from  The Princeton Review to participate in a brief survey on our JD program. This is a different survey from last week’s, which sought your feedback in preparation of an American Bar Association Site-Visit Self Study Report. This survey is used to inform the narratives associated with Akron Law in the Princeton Review books and on their website, which is one resource that prospective students use when deciding where to go to Law School. We hope that you will take a moment to complete this survey. Your positive feedback will surely help us as we strive to maintain the high quality of students that choose Akron Law for their legal education.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation.

Sincerely,
Anthony Colucci
Asst. Dir. of Admissions
