The Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf or Hard of Hearing – George H. Nofer Scholarship for Law and Public Policy

The Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf or Hard of Hearing (AG Bell) has a scholarship program for students enrolled in an accredited School of Law.

The George H. Nofer Scholarship for Law and Public Policy is for full-time graduate students with a moderate to profound hearing loss who are attending an accredited law school full-time.

The George H. Nofer Scholarship for Law and Public Policy was established to recognize the late George H. Nofer’s service and generosity to AG Bell and to the fields of law and deafness research and education. Mr. Nofer, who at the time of his death was a retired partner of the law firm of Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis LLP in Philadelphia, was a former member of the AG Bell board of directors.

The 2024 program awards are for the 2024-2025 academic year. Three (3) scholarships of up to $5,000 each will be awarded.

Eligibility Criteria

  • You use listening and spoken language as your primary mode of communication.
  • You have a pre-lingual hearing loss (diagnosed prior to your fourth birthday).
  • Your hearing loss must be bilateral and in the moderately-severe to profound range.
  • You have been accepted at or are enrolled in an accredited law school as a full-time student for the 2024-2025 academic year.

Allen County (Indiana) Bar Foundation Scholarship

On behalf of the Allen County Bar Foundation, I am reaching out to inform you of a scholarship opportunity for students who are from Allen County, Indiana or planning to practice law in Allen County. The Allen County Bar Foundation Legal Opportunity Scholarship aims to support and advance diversity, equity, and inclusion by helping students with ties to Allen County enter or continue law school and prepare to join the legal profession. We invite you to share this message with any interested students.

The scholarship will provide up to $2,500 to a law student for law school tuition and fees or bar exam preparation and up to $1,500 for an undergraduate student for Law School Admissions Test fees or test preparation services. Mahoning County Bar Foundation Scholarship

The Mahoning County Bar Foundation is a non-profit organization, primarily funded by the members of the Mahoning County Bar Association. Each year it funds scholarships for persons having substantial ties to the Mahoning Valley who are about to enter, or who have already entered, law school. These scholarships typically range from $1,000-2,000 and will be paid directly to the law school toward their tuition.
