Moot Court Honor Society Informational Meetings

Are you interested in trying out for Moot Court, but you’re not quite sure what it entails? Please join us for a short Informational Meeting to learn more about becoming a member of Akron Law’s Moot Court Honor Society. Meetings are open to everyone and are not a requirement in order to tryout, whether you are a returning member or thinking about trying out for the first time. We will hold two meetings: Monday, September 16th from 5:15pm-6:00pm in Room L-301 or Thursday, September 19th from 12:15pm-1:00pm in Room W-215. Please contact Loren Fekete at LDF13@zips.uakron.edu with any questions.

Ohio State Bar Association Invites You to Join

For those of you who were unable to attend, I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to join the OSBA.  You can easily take advantage of FREE OSBA Student Membership by simply visiting the OSBA Web site and downloading an application: https://www.ohiobar.org/Membership/Join/Pages/StaticPage-272.aspx

Please feel free to contact me or your student liaison, Caity Carney, at cac175@zips.uakron.edu.

Please join the Student Bar Association for our first general assembly meeting on Thursday, September 5 at 12:30 and 5:15 in room W210.  As students of the University of Akron School of Law, you are automatically a member of SBA, so this is a great and easy way to get involved with school organizations.  We will be discussing all of the traditional and newly added events upcoming for SBA this fall.  Olive Garden and refreshments will be provided.

Street Law Seeks Volunteers

Street Law, Inc. is seeking a few law students to volunteer at local high schools.  Street Law is a practical elective course taught throughout many high schools in Summit County. The time commitment will be approximately three hours for the entire semester. Although the time commitment is minimal, it is a valuable opportunity to get involved with the local community. Please email streetlaw@akronbar.org if you are interested in volunteering or have any questions.
