Need Pro-Bono Hours?  This weekend, the Law Association for Women and SALDF can help!

Saturday, October 6 from 7:45am-1pm 5th Annual Walk With Your Best Friend Against Abuse Volunteer to assist with this event and get over 5 hours of community service limited means hours!

Saturday, October 6 from 9am-1pm 5th Annual Walk With Your Best Friend Against Abuse Join the Law Association for Women / Student Animal Legal Defense Fund team at the dog walk and have some fun while getting up to 4 hours community service limited means!

Sunday, October 7 from 9am-12pm Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5k Walk Join the Law Association for Women team in raising funds for The American Cancer Society.

Community Service hours will be available for your participation.

Moot Court Honor Society Tryouts Oct. 6

Moot Court Honor Society will be having tryouts October 6th for people interested in joining. Participants will only be required to give a 7 minute oral argument based on a closed-research problem. The tryout problem will be emailed today September 28. Anyone who wants to be included in tryouts should email Alex Armitage. Current MCHS members wanting to compete on external teams and did not compete last year are encouraged to tryout again. Questions can be directed to Alex Armitage at asa47@zips.uakron.edu.

Discount tickets to Comedians at Law Oct. 4

Phi Alpha Delta is organizing a group to go to see “Comedians at Law” in Cleveland on Oct. 4th.  This is a group of lawyers and former lawyers who are comedians.  All students, faculty, and administrators are welcome to come with us.  The group rate for tickets is $10.  If you are interested, please contact Dianna M. Sudia Smith  at dms119@zips.uakron.edu by Friday afternoon so we can get the tickets.

Street Law Seeks Law Student Volunteers

The Street Law Program at the Akron Bar Association is looking for two more law students to volunteer at local high schools.  Street Law is a practical elective course taught throughout many high schools in the Summit County high schools. The time commitment will be 1-2 hours a week, but will still be a valuable opportunity to get involved with the local community.
