IPTLA – IP Small Firm and Solo Practice Lifestyle – Nov. 2, 6:15, W-210

IPTLA will be holding a meeting on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at 6:15pm in room W-214. Ed Sisson will speak on the topic of Small Firm and Solo Practitioner IP Lifestyle. The needs and requirements of a small firm or solo practitioner environment are significantly different in some aspects and very similar in others to those in a large firm.

Mr. Sisson advises customers in all aspects of the business and intellectual property process from patent and trademark procurement to third party agreements such as tolling and licensing. Mr. Sisson was the Intellectual Property Manager for the M&G Group of Companies, prior to starting his own firm. Mr. Sisson is also an inventor in his own right with multiple patents and pending applications.

Please join us for this meeting and start to get to know the other students that are interested and involved in intellectual property law. Food will be provided.

Congratulations on Raising $300 for the Community Legal Aid Society!

On Friday October 22, 2010 the law school community, students, staff and faculty, demonstrated their commitment to Pro Bono work by raising over $300.00 for the Community Legal Aid Society. It was gratifying to see so many faculty, students and staff setting up games, cooking food and competing against each other. We still have some financial pledges to be received so at this point we can anticipate that we will be donating close to $400.00 to Community Legal Aid.

We hope to make this a regular once a  semester event. If you have ideas about how to improve this event please share them with any faculty or staff member. Thank you.
