Summit County Legal Defenders Office seeks law student volunteers – great experience

AkronLawJobs Job No. 3902 – The Summit County Legal Defenders Office Juvenile Law Program is seeking second or third year law students who are interested in acquiring required pro bono hours or a great learning experience. Volunteers will interview juvenile detainees and their parents, assist the assigned public defender, and sit in on detention hearings. Opportunities are available Monday through Friday. Students are expected to be at the Juvenile Center on Dan Street in Akron at 6:45 am and stay till roughly 9 am. Kevin C. Krull (’77), Vice President of Business Operations and General Counsel with International Data Group, Inc., will teach the seminar.

Mr. Krull will visit Akron Law on Thursday, October 18 to speak to students about this seminar and explain employment opportunities that may be available to those who successfully complete the seminar. Space is limited. RSVP no later than Monday, October 15 at 3p.m. to Jeanne Kennedy at jeanne2@uakron.edu. Food will be served to those who attend.
