This position involves legal writing, assistance with litigation matters and regulatory filings with occasional delivering and filing of legal documents. The individual will also check legal forms and documents for accuracy, organize and track case files and monitor new or updated regulations. The position is located at FirstEnergy’s corporate offices in Akron, Ohio and reports to Managing Counsel.

 Qualifications – Currently attending Accredited Law School; Minimum of 2nd or 3rd year student in good academic standing;  Familiarity with administrative law or a regulatory environment preferred.  Experience with WestLaw. Able to work with minimal supervision.   Able to work 40 hours per week during summer (June to August) and 20 hours per week during academic year (September to May). AkronLawJobs Job No. 3010 – The Office of the United States Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio is responsible for the prosecution of all federal crimes in northern Ohio.  The office also represents the United States and its departments and agencies in civil proceedings filed in federal court and in the Sixth Circuit.  Volunteer law clerks assist in the prosecution and defense of both criminal and civil cases in the District Court, the Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, and the Bankruptcy Court.

 They are currently accepting applications for the 2012 Summer Law Clerk Program.  The application deadline is January 9, 2012.
