Oh Shoot! When is Lethal Force Justified? – Tuesday, Sept. 15 12:20 – 1:30
Join the ACLU and the Federalist Society in the Law School Atrium from 12:20-1:30 on September 15, 2015 for a lively debate between Scott Erickson and Lloyd Snyder on the Police use of lethal force. Mr. Erickson is a Law Enforcement Officer from San Jose California who will bring a practical bent to the issue. Mr. Snyder is a Law Professor at Cleveland-Marshall Law School who will look at the issue from a more academic lens. Bring your questions. Food will be provided.
17th Annual Law School Closing Argument Competition – Thursday October 8, 2015
It’s that time of year again, and we are excited to announce the 17th Annual Law Student Closing Argument Competition. Attached please find a flier we would like you to immediately distribute to your 2nd and 3rd year law students who are interested in competing in a competition scheduled to take place Thursday, October 8, 2015, at the Cuyahoga County Courthouse. The event is sponsored by the Landskroner Foundation for Children, a child advocacy organization, which attempts to advance and protect the rights of children, further children’s issues and promote the good and welfare of children in need or at risk.
We are offering law students from your institution the opportunity to take part in our competition. There are monetary scholarships for the top three place finishers, $750, $500, and $200 respectively.
We appreciate your cooperation in extending this invitation to your students and providing them with this flier and/or e-mail notice of our competition. If there are any questions please feel free to contact me. Space is limited, do not delay.
Corporate Business Law Society! CBLS First Meeting, Monday at 12:30 and 5:15
CBLS will be holding a short and informal meeting for all law students who are interested in corporate and business law. They will be meeting on Monday, September 14th in room L-152 at 12:30 and 5:15 to discuss the upcoming semester’s events and get your input!
