CQE Clinic Volunteer Training – Wednesday, May 13, 4:00 pm

Our next free Certificate of Qualification for Employment (CQE) clinic is Saturday, May 16th! We’re very excited to be providing opportunities for ex-offenders in Summit County to take a step toward gaining employment and independence!

We are looking for students to volunteer from 9:45a-12:45p on May 16th. The clinic will be held at Barberton Middle School,477 4th St. NW Barberton, OH 44203. The time you volunteer can be applied toward your graduation requirement as pro bono limited means hours.

There will be a volunteer training on Wednesday, May 13th, 4:00-5:30pm at the law school. The time you’re at training will count toward your pro bono limited means hours as well.

“IPTLA FUNDRAISER, PLEASE HELP!!

Tuesday April 21st, between 4-8pm only: if you purchase Chipotle (at 272 E Exchange St, Akron, OH 44304) AND notify your cashier that you wish to support the IPTLA, then a percentage of your purchase will be donated to our organization.

Supporters can notify their cashier by showing the cashier our flyer, by verbally communicating support for the IPTLA, or by showing an image of our flyer on a mobile device.
There is a flyer attached to this announcement. Flyers are also posted around the law school, they were e-mailed to IPTLA members, and they can be found on multiple Akron Law facebook pages.

International Law Society Seeking Executive Board Candidates for 2015-2016

In lieu of an official meeting with all members, we will be holding officer elections via e-mail.

This e-mail is meant to both notify everyone of the election as well as a request for persons interested in running for an officer position to make that known to me ASAP. I will follow this e-mail with another e-mail including the names of candidates and officer positions, as well as any comments they would like to include as a way of campaigning for themselves.

PLEASE LET ME KNOW OF YOUR INTEREST IN AN OFFICER POSITION BY THURSDAY NIGHT 4/16/15. PLEASE INCLUDE YOUR NAME, AND WHICH OFFICER POSITION(S) YOU ARE INTERESTED IN, ALONG WITH ANY STATEMENTS YOU WOULD LIKE TO INCLUDE AS A WAY TO “CAMPAIGN” FOR YOURSELF.

I will draft the candidate list on Friday Morning, 4/17/15, and leave it open for voting until the same evening. I will then announce the results via e-mail in a third and final e-mail on Friday, 4/20/15.

Thank you. I hope this isn’t too confusing. As I said earlier, being this close to finals, V.P. Prad and I decided this would be the best method of taking care of this.

There will be a volunteer training on Friday, April 17th, 5:00-6:15p at the law school. The time you’re at training will count toward your pro bono limited means hours as well.
