BLSA BANQUET – April 11th – Ticket Sales today and tomorrow in student lounge!!

BLSA would like to cordially invite you all to join us as we celebrate the end of another phenomenal year! The annual banquet is BLSA’s chance to celebrate and acknowledge the accomplishments of its chapter and the local Attorneys who strive to make equality a reality in our legal community. We will be holding our annual BLSA Banquet on April 11, 2015, at 6:30PM in the Grand Ballroom of Quaker Inn.

This year’s theme is “A Call for Unity,” inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Student tickets are available for only $35 and full tables can be purchased for only $400. It is a great way to interact with local Judges, Attorneys, and other professionals from the Akron/canton area.

TRIAL TEAM INFORMATION SESSION! LEARN HOW TO CROSS AND OPEN BEFORE TRYOUTS!!

Please come try out & become a member of the 2015-2016 Akron Law Trial Team! Tryouts are being held on Saturday April 11, 2015. Please email Rachel Smick at rls173@zips.uakron.edu to get on the schedule and get a copy of the materials for tryouts. All you need to do is prepare either a 5 minute opening statement or a 5 minute closing argument (your choice!) & rest assured, our current trial team members will be there to help every step of the way!

We will be holding a Q & A session, along with some general information on how to write an opening statement & closing argument on Monday April 6th at noon in room 151, and Monday April 6th at 3:30 p.m. in room 151.

This is a unique opportunity where students will be able to get one-on-one coaching experience & mentoring from some of the best trial attorneys around.

The team is run by Larry Sutter, and the majority of the coaches are successful trial attorneys at the Law Firm of Sutter O’Connell. Please go to their website for more information about their firm and our coaching staff, http://www.sutter-law.com/

Competing on our Trial Team will also provide you with ample networking experience, as you will be competing in front of other trial attorneys and judges both locally and nationwide. Trial Team is also something employers look for on your resume, so take advantage of the opportunity to set your resume above the rest!

Don’t let this opportunity pass you by! Tryouts are only held once a year & you don’t want to miss our 2015-2016 season! Again, please email Rachel Smick at rls173@zips.uakron.edu to get on the schedule and get a copy of the materials for tryouts.
