Public Interest Auction – Saturday, March 8, 2014 – 6:00pm

Your Student Bar Association is reprising its annual Public Interest Auction to benefit students in public service jobs. The Auction is being held this Saturday March 8 at 6 PM in the Student Union Ballroom B. The event is one of SBA’s most highly-anticipated events, and this year’s event promises to be memorable!

Professors, students, local businesses and local attorneys have donated dozens of items including Rubber Ducks tickets, lunches with some of your favorite professors, and vacation packages. We are also fortunate enough to have received a football signed by Joe Haden, a basketball signed by the MAC Championship team, and a series of unbelievable paintings crafted by Jim Fussell of Marion Correctional. There will be a silent auction conducted throughout the evening and live auction conducted by a professional auctioneer!

Tickets are on sale through Friday in the law school for $10 per ticket and proceeds from the auctioned items go directly back to students in public interest jobs here at Akron Law. We look forward to seeing as many students as possible at this exciting event!

Free Intellectual Property Legal Resource Training by Bloomberg Law

Join IPTLA and Bloomberg Law on Tuesday, March 11 at 5:15pm-6:15pm in room W-210 for a free training session on Bloomberg Law’s Intellectual Property Resources. Aside from providing a comprehensive review of their many IP resources, Bloomberg will also be providing the attendees with dinner! This is a great opportunity to learn how to use a wonderful resource, especially for writing a thesis for the LLM.

The event will follow Judge Michel’s Oldham Lecture, which concludes at 5:00pm.

An RSVP is not required, but IPTLA would like to send an approximate head count to Bloomberg to ensure that there is plenty of food for all. Send an email to Jessica Peplowski (jlp132@zips.uakron.edu) if you think that you will be attending the event.”
