Should Interns Be Paid at For-Profit Law Firms?

Body: CBLS and PAD invite all Akron Law students to attend our Have Your Say Forum on Thursday, November 19, 2015 in the Atrium. The topic for discussion is the ethics of having unpaid interns at for-profit law firms. As this effects all law students, everyone is encouraged to attend. Food and Refreshments will be provided. SELS Seeking Volunteers for Local Swim Meet, Sat. Nov. 14th

The Sports and Entertainment Law Society is looking for volunteers to help out at the Booke McMahan Memorial Swim Meet hosted by the Summit Special Olympics Athletic Club. The swim meet will be held at the University of Akron Ocasek Natatorium on Saturday November 14, 2015. Volunteers will earn general community service credit. 2016 ABA Client Counseling Competition – Sign Up Now!

Akron Law students are invited to compete in the 2016 ABA Client Counseling Competition. Teams will be comprised of two people, and the sign-up sheet is located in the School of Law main office and available at 2016 Client Counseling Survey

Pursuant to the by-laws set forth,
1) All students are invited and encouraged to participate (1L, 2L, 3L)
2) Each student will:
a. Obtain practice in the area of client interviewing,
b. Gain invaluable feedback from attorneys to carry forward in jobs and the clinics,
c. Build their resume,
d. Work with a classmate to improve skills,
e. Learn client confidentiality,
f. Have a fantastic time!

It is unnecessary to have any experience or time for preparation. Students are asked to simply participate on the dates set forth.
