SELS – ‘Legal Perspectives of the Entertainment Industry’ – 9/17/12 at 12:20pm

The Sports & Entertainment Law Society will be hosting the event “Legal Perspectives of the Entertainment Industry” this Monday, Sept. 17^th, at 12:20 in room W-214.

Local attorney David Thomas will provide insight on his experience in the field of Entertainment Law and also answer any questions. Mr. Thomas has detailed experience in film production negotiations, intellectual property, licensing, distribution deals, and various other areas.

This will be a great opportunity for anyone interested in Sports or Entertainment Law to get a practical idea of what the legal work entails!

ACJ General Meeting – 9/12/12 – 12:15pm

Come join the Akron Criminal Justice Society today 9/12 for our first General Meeting of the school year. The meeting will be held in Room 167 at the Law School from 12:15-1. Moot Court Honor Society Presents David Mills September 26

Moot Court Honor Society is having David Mills come to speak about his recent case in front of the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Mills received a 9-0 decision in favor of his client in Ortiz v. Jordan, 131 S.Ct. 884. He has an extensive background in appellate practice and will speaking not only about the case, but also appellate practice in general. He has been featured in several articles from the ABA Journal and was named one of the “Lawyers of the Year 2011” by Lawyers USA.

This is event is open to anyone willing to attend. Mr. Mills will be speaking on Wednesday, September 26 from 12:30 – 1:30 in RM 151. This event is mandatory for all Moot Court Honor Society Members. If you have any questions please contact Alex Armitage (asa47@zips.uakron.edu)
