Student Animal Legal Defense Fund will host their first semester meeting (Tuesday, September 11th) at 12:15 in room W214. We will be discussing exciting upcoming events, including speaker Robert Farinocci to address being an Equine Lawyer, volunteer opportunities, and the upcoming ALDF conference in Portland, Oregon. Delicious vegetarian appetizers from Aladdin’s Eatery will be provided for all that attend.

SBA General Meeting – 9/12 at 12:15pm
Please join the Student Bar Association for our first general assembly meeting on Wednesday, September 12th at 12:15 and 5:15 in room W214. As students of the University of Akron School of Law, you are automatically a member of SBA, so this is a great and easy way to get involved with school organizations. Welcome Back Students!! We are happy to announce the Academic Success Fall 2012 Group Study Sessions. Each session will be led by an Academic Success Fellow who is an upper-division student at Akron Law. Please find the Fall 2012 schedule attached (CLICK ON THE LINK ABOVE).

Moot Court Honor Society Presents David Mills September 26
Moot Court Honor Society is having David Mills come to speak about his recent case in front of the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Mills received a 9-0 decision in favor of his client in Ortiz v. Jordan, 131 S.Ct. 884. He has an extensive background in appellate practice and will speaking not only about the case, but also appellate practice in general. He has been featured in several articles from the ABA Journal and was one of the “Lawyers of the Year 2011” by Lawyers USA.
This is event is open to anyone willing to attend. Mr. Mills will be speaking on Wednesday, September 26 in RM 151. This event is mandatory for all Moot Court Honor Society Members.
