Despite dropping out of high school, Kevin earned his GED, pursued an associate’s degree in computer science, and went on to excel in his career with the State of Colorado and RTD. In his memory, The Gold Law Firm offers this scholarship to support ambitious students who demonstrate resilience and a commitment to personal growth.

Eligibility:

  • First-time college freshmen enrolled or planning to enroll in an accredited U.S. college or university
  • U.S. citizens or permanent residents
  • At least 17 years of age upon applying
  • Participation in one or more of the following during high school or earlier:
    • Scouts
    • Acting/Theatre
    • Debate Club
    • Speech

Requirements:

  • A 500-word essay responding to:

The Friends of the Firm Scholarships are available to students with personal ties to the firm, offering support to those who are part of the Burress community. Eligibility

  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must be enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited U.S. college or university for Spring 2026
  • Must have a demonstrated record of community or volunteer service
  • High school graduates may apply if they are enrolled for the upcoming semester
  • Must be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours at the time the scholarship is awarded
