Speech and Debate Team Judges Needed

The Copley High School Speech and Debate team is looking for individuals that are willing to judge at tournaments on Saturday’s.  Copley is about a 15 minute drive from campus.  This is a great way to see future lawyers in action.  If interested, please email head coach, Shannon Rote at Shannon.Rote@Copley-Fairlawn.org  The schedule for the season is below.  You can volunteer for any or all of the sessions.  You can receive general community service hours towards your pro bono hours.

Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund Seeking Summer 2018 Intern

New York, NY – 2018 Summer Legal Intern – Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund

AkronLawJobs No. 8774 Overview: The summer program is ten weeks, from May 29 through August 3, 2018.  Interns work full-time and are supervised by attorneys in specific program areas.  Depending on what work needs to be done in each of the program areas, interns will work on litigation, legal and policy advocacy, community outreach and education, or client intakes; each program area differs in emphasis.  Summer interns attend weekly brown bag lectures on a range of public interest legal topics along with interns from other legal defense funds and civil rights groups.  The position is unpaid.  However, in previous years many AALDEF interns have been successful at securing independent funding.  Academic credit can be arranged.
