Center for Constitutional Law Seeks Social Media Manager

The Center for Constitutional Law at Akron seeks a volunteer student Social Media Manager to maintain the Center’s Twitter account. The Center is one of only two operating national resource centers established by Congress to support constitutional law research and public education. The Social Media Manager will provide daily posts on the Con Law Center Twitter page and will engage in advanced legal research on new cases and scholarship in the field. The Social Media Manger will be part of the Cent’ers team working to enhance public understanding of the Constitution. Constitution Week Events September 14-18

The Center for Constitutional Law, one of four national research centers established by Congress, located at the University of Akron School of Law is offering several presentations during Constitution Week, September 14-18, 2015. On Monday, the movie “14: Dred Scott, Wong Kim Ark & Vanessa Lopez” will be shown at 12:30 pm, Room 151 and again at 5:00 pm in Room 165. On Wednesday, Professors Marty Belsky and Dean Carro present “Prosecutor Meets Defense” at 12:30 pm in Room 151. Thursday, Professor Wilson Huhn addresses Obergefell v. Hodges, when he presents “Understanding the Implications of the Same-sex Marriage Case” at 12:30 pm in Room 151. Thursday, Professors Bill Rich, Koji Higashikawa and Dean Matthew Wilson will engage in a discussion on the international comparison in “Hate Speech Under the U.S. and Japanese Constitutions” at 5:00 in Room 151. Dear Students:

We are in the final stages of hiring a Director of Admissions and Financial Aid.    The hiring committee screened over 60 applications for the position and conducted initial interviews of nearly 10 candidates.   We have narrowed the pool down to four finalists, and have invited them to campus this week.

Given the importance of this position to the law school community, we would like to all students with an opportunity to meet the candidates and provide feedback.  As such, we have asked each candidate to give a short presentation/Q&A session (30 minutes) about how s/he would recruit students to the University of Akron School of Law.  To the extent that you are interested in making your voice heard,  we invite you to attend these events.  Today’s schedule is as follows:
