The course books for Summer Interim are located at the library at the Law Center.   All other course books are at the library at Central Hower Room 322.  In the Fall, you will find copies of your course books in Central Hower Room 322.

Central Hower is located at 123 Forge Street.  See the campus map.

New Link for West Academic Study Aids (and Hornbook access too!)

West Academic Study Aids has a new link:  http://ezproxy.uakron.edu:2048/login?url=https://subscription.westacademic.com.   If you are on campus, no login credentials are needed.  If you are off campus, you will be asked to log in with your UAnet Id and password.  While you are no longer required to have your own account to West Academic, creating an account allows you to save your notes and highlights, save favorites and see recently viewed titles.  If you used West Academic Study Aids in the past and created an account, your account will still work.

Additionally, West Academic now provides online access to 43 West Hornbooks.  Hornbooks are the hardbound books with the green covers that your professors often recommend you consult to clarify concepts discussed in class.  Hornbooks provide straightforward analysis and are written by experts in the field.  Flashcards for Contracts and Torts are also now available, as are the Law Stories series (brings to life the groundbreaking cases with a combination of narration and analysis to introduce the key participants and set the legal and historical context.)

What is Available at the Law Librar(ies!) this Summer?

Due to construction, the law library is now in TWO locations:

  • The Law Library at the Law Center: Course books for summer classes are here.
  • Central Hower High School Room 322: See Campus Map.  The Central Hower location contains a mini collection of current library materials.

OASP and Sum & Substance – Circulation and Fine Changes for Finals

The circulation period and overdue fines for OASP and Sum and Substance materials will change for Reading Period and Finals. Starting on Friday, April 29, these materials will circulate for only 1 day (instead of 72 hours) and no renewals will be allowed. Overdue fines for these materials will increase from $1.00 per day to $5.00 per day.

These changes provide access to the materials for a greater number of students. If you have questions regarding these changes please stop by the Circulation Desk and ask to speak with Ms. Nevins or a librarian.

And don’t forget our ONLINE STUDY AIDS on Akron Law Digital and  West Academic Study Aids – no worries about fines when you use these great online resources!
