Open House Advising: May 2016 Graduation Clearance
Assistant Dean of Law Student Affairs Ivy Banks and Manager Liz Wascak will be stationed in the law school atrium for a Graduation Advising ‘Open House’ during the following dates and times:
- Monday, September 28th 12:00pm – 2:00pm
- Tuesday, September 29th 4:30pm – 6:30pm
Stop by and receive answers to your graduation questions like:
- How do I apply? – Deadline is Thursday, October 1, 2015
- What do I still need to take?
- What about my certificate?
Degree Audit Reporting System (DARS) audits can also be reviewed with you.
Please come by the atrium and see us. We hope to see you!
Application for Graduation – Deadlines for Law Students
Please submit your Law School Graduation Application via ‘My Akron’ during the following dates:
- LATE*:December Candidates: January 1, 2015 to June 1, 2015 for Fall 2015
- For January 10, 2016 degree conferral
- December Graduation Application Deadline: June 1, 2015
- May Candidates: May 1, 2015 to October 1, 2015 for Spring 2016
- For May 2016 degree conferral
- May Graduation Application Deadline: October 1, 2015
*LATE? Applications via My Akron are not available for Fall 2015 at this time. We will allow late applications if appropriate; however late applicants will need approval from Asst. Dean of Law Student Services.

Retirement of Student Mailboxes
ATTENTION: LAW STUDENTS, FACULTY AND STAFF
Akron Law, including Student Services is gearing up for the start of construction on our new law building. As such, effective July 1, 2015 we will no longer assign student mailboxes. Please clear any items in the mailbox by June 30, 2015. Student Services will remove any remaining items on July 1, 2015. Current student mailboxes and Student Organization mailboxes will be marked ‘Do Not Stuff’ and removed during reconstruction.
After June 30th, when there are non-electronic, hard-copy items which need to make their way between students, faculty and staff, the procedure will be:
- The drop-off person is responsible for notifying all parties that their item(s) has been left with the law school’s receptionist desk for them to pick up
- The drop-off person shall bring the item(s) to the law receptionist desk clearly labeled with the name of the person it is for, and the date of drop off.
