FCBA Foundation Law School Scholarship

The FCBA Foundation Law School Scholarship application window is now open and available to law students entering their second and third years of study in the fall of 2015. Law students must be attending an accredited law school in the United States. One-time competitive awards are available ranging from $2,500 to $10,000 and are based on the applicant’s financial need, demonstration of merit, and interest in communications law practice.

Applicant Selection:

This is both a merit and needs-based scholarship. Applicants must demonstrate strength of character, superior academic achievement, and a strong interest in pursuing a career in communications law. Applicants will be selected on the basis of: (1) a demonstrated interest in the communications law field; (2) dependence on financial assistance in order to attend law school; and (3) their law school record.

Applications for the FCBA Law School Scholarship funding should be submitted online at:

https://fcbafoundation.starsscholarshipsonline.com/STARS/default.aspx. Applicants may be asked to interview with members of the Foundation Board; interviews may be conducted by telephone. Applications are due no later than April 1, 2015 and the winners will be notified by May 15, 2015.

Critchfield, Critchfield & Johnston, Ltd. Scholarship Opportunities

Critchfield, Critchfield & Johnston, Ltd., with offices in Wooster, Millersburg,Mount Vernon, Medina and Ashland, is sponsoring two law scholarships for the 2015-2016 school year.

The Critchfield Law Resident Scholarship is offered for current or former residents of Ashland, Holmes, Knox, Medina or Wayne counties who have completed at least one semester of law school.

The Critchfield Law Diversity Scholarship is offered to a minority student who has completed at least one semester of law school, regardless of the student’s place of residence.
Selected recipients will be awarded $1,000 for each scholarship for the 2015-2016 academic year. The application deadline is April 3, 2015.

The Community Foundation of Shelby County Scholarship Opportunity

Students in their final year of law school are eligible for a $3,000 scholarship from the Law Student Assistance Fund administered by The Community Foundation of Shelby County.

Eligible students must have a permanent residence within the counties of Auglaize, Champaign, Darke, Logan, Mercer, Miami or Shelby. Applicants must have also graduated from a high school in one of the stated counties. Award selection is based upon demonstrated leadership in law school, the community, other schooling and church activities. The selection committee will also consider financial need and above-average legal scholarship while in law school.

Serbian Bar Association of America Scholarship Opportunity

The Serbian Bar Association of America (SBAA) provides scholarships every year to persons of Serbian birth or ancestry and/or their spouses who are enrolled in an accredited law school in the United States.  The SBAA typically awards scholarships in the following amounts:

  •         Two  (2) $2,000 scholarships;
  •         One  (1) $1,000 scholarship; and
  •         One  (1) $500 scholarship.

The SBAA scholarship application is now available online at www.serbbar.org/scholarships.  The deadline to apply is March 20, 2015. Scholarships will be presented at the SBAA’s annual scholarship gala on April 18, 2015.
