Bar Preparation Scholarship Update 

Applications will be reviewed on Monday, April 28, 2014.  If you have not submitted an application, please do so as soon as possible!

We have additional limited scholarship funds available to support students who demonstrate significant financial need. Please use this form to apply for a scholarship to cover a portion of the difference between the Bar Fellowship reimbursement and the remainder of the tuition for your bar exam preparation course. Application for these funds does not guarantee receipt thereof.  Please submit application form to Law Student Services.  Thank you.

School of Law Fall 2014 Schedule

The Fall 2014 Schedule of Classes is available for online viewing via My Akron and a copy of the School of Law schedule, including elective descriptions and footnotes are posted and a link to the schedule was be emailed to all students. 

It is important to review all footnotes and elective descriptions for specific class information.

The Fall priority registration period begins on Monday, March 31st.  All students are encouraged to register early.  We suggest you log into your MyAkron account now to determine your registration date and time.

 

University Priority Schedule for Law Students: Priority registration is based on law credit hours completed and does not include credits in progress or graduate credits transferred to law.

IMPORTANT BAR EXAMINATION INFORMATION & UPCOMING DEADLINES

ATTENTION:   ALL 2nd YEAR FULL-TIME & PART-TIME STUDENTS

If you plan to take the Ohio Bar Exam and have not already done so, your Application to Register as a Candidate for Admission to the Practice of Law must be RECEIVED in the Office of Bar Admissions at the Supreme Court of Ohio by November 15.

 Your required Ohio Bar Certificate of Dean (available on the application link above) must be submitted to Terri Bisesi in the law school dean’s office for processing. When your  Certificate of Dean is returned, you will receive an official fingerprint card and instructions where to get fingerprinted.

 These forms take time to process, so please submit in a timely fashion.  Processing in our office and your submission to the bar (mailing time) need to be considered.

To get information about bar admission requirements or to apply for admission to the bar, contact the appropriate jurisdiction. Most jurisdictions have information available via their own websites found at http://www.ncbex.org/bar-admissions/offices 

Just like Ohio’s certificates, other state’s law school certificates must be submitted to the law school dean’s office, College Program Specialist Terri Bisesi for processing.
